NOT EVERYONE IS YOUR FRIEND.

Image source-  Favim. After schooling, comes the most awaited and essential part of a student’s life, i.e., college life. Remember how we entered school for the first time? Crying and yelling not to go inside but were dragged away from our parents for a few hours. It turned to be a jail for us back then but slowly the friends we made there and the teachers made us feel like home and then home seemed boring. The last day of school and yet again, we were in tears; tears of departure from each other. Yes, even I cried but then I later realised that all the tears which did flow were real but from whom I cried, they weren’t real. The friends I made were double faced (few were exceptions as still date we share an amazing bond). I cursed myself for making such friends but then I thought, “abhi toh college baki hai, for sure I’ll find some good friends and make amazing memories.” Then the day came, I stepped into my college for the first time and things turned out pretty well. I ma...

TO MY BEST FRIEND.

“What’s up with your blog? You don’t write these days?” Mandy asked.  “Blog? Oh yeah, I mean... like... I... I stopped writing.” Relisha replied.  “But why?” He asked. All blank and without any perfect reply to his question, she replied, “I don’t know, I just stopped writing.” “Such a stupid girl you are. The one who is even afraid to face herself and speak out the truth.” He said. Silence all around, just the horns blew and the bus kept on moving.  “Bae?” he shook Relisha and let her come out of her dreamland and said, “Answer me.” “I just don’t know why I stopped writing.” She replied. “Seriously?” Mandy stressed on it. “Ok. I stopped writing after he broke up with me.” I replied with tears in my eyes. *FLASHBACK* Those few last days before he broke up. “Hi.” Seen, but no reply.  Online, yet ignored.  “Hello?” Relisha texted him yet again.  “Yes say.” He replied.  “Yes say? What kind of a reply is this?” “A normal reply. What more...

BEST FRIENDS.

Image source-  Favim. 1st August; 2015. He was on his way back to home from school. He saw people buying friendship bands from the roadside stalls. Seeing them buying the bands he was unable to stop himself and rushed to the shop and brought a few very good friendship bands. He held those friendship bands and had a big smile on his face. He rushed back to home and threw his bag and went to his room. He then freshened up and started making the friendship day card for his only best friend. He tried his best to make it the best card. 2nd August; 2015. It was 12 at night and he rushed to the hospital. Everyone was shocked seeing him do so, but he didn’t care. He rushed into the hospital and went inside the cabin and shouted, “HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY KAVYA” and ran and hugged her. Kavya was Rishav’s only best friend and he could do anything to make this day special for her. He tied the band on her hand and gave her the card. She was in tears and she replied, “Thank you so muc...

THOSE FRIENDS.

Image source-  Favim. They cheated me and used me, They were the “so-called-friends”, I helped them, I was with them, Whenever they needed, I was there. Whenever I needed them,  they were not there. Unable to move on,  I gave up on myself. I decided to quit,  as my friends decided to cheat. A voice from the sky said,  “You’re a little princess, you’ve not seen life yet. Don’t give up so easily,  and if you do so,  you’ll be titled a coward. Fight for yourself,  and live the dream you’ve seen,  life is not over yet,  you’ll later get a bunch of real true friends.” It was then I realized,  I took life too seriously at the very beginning.  “Do not take life too seriously.  You will never get out of it alive.” Image source-  Favim. IT WAS A FINAL GOODBYE.

My life was a bit different. Having friends in my life was not my cup of tea. My only friends were my laptop and my cellphone. My father was a DSP and hence he was posted to different places on short time intervals. We could hardly spend a year at a particular place and this was the reason why I had no friends. In 2008, my father was posted in Nainital and we had to move there. I was not sad about the news as this became a common thing in my life. But this time, something was different. My father was posted here for a year and I was happy to hear this. Maybe now I could make some friends, not friends but true friends who would be with me even if I leave this place and move to somewhere else. Soon we moved to Nainital and I was excited because this was the first time he was posted to a hill station. Nainital was mesmerizing and I fell in love with the place and it was “love at first sight”. Greenery all around and the cold winds blowing, nothing could be better than this.  We wen...

ARE BEST FRIEND REALLY MEANT TO BE FOREVER?

Image
Image Credits-  Favim. Richa cried the whole day trying to find her mistake. She messaged her best friend, Karan once again, “what’s wrong with you? Why aren’t you replying me? Have I done something? Please clear it out; I just want to know my mistake.” The message went ignored and life moved on. She saw him online everyday and pinged him. All her messages were ignored and were of no use. He uploaded pictures and statuses, liked this, liked that and what not but didn’t reply to her messages. She was all broken and hurt. That night she penned down her feelings in her diary. It read,  “Best friends are meant to be forever but is it really so? Does forever really exist? Is it all not so fake? Telling I’ll be with you forever is nothing, but obeying your words is something. Was it all fun for him? Is “best friends” just a stupid tag or people really do follow it? Would he ever talk to me again? Have I really done something that he is ignoring me? Am I that bad? Don’t...

“THE JOURNEY STARTED WITH SOME VOTES ON INDIBLOGGER AND ENDED UP WITH A FRIEND REQUEST”

Image
A perfect title for this so very short story of friendship! :D IndiBlogger is an interesting site but I never thought that I would be getting a best buddy over there. Unexpected things do happen and this happened to me.  On 6th of April, I got a mail from IndiBlogger telling, “You have been added to the network of Depanjan Chowdhury , a blogger from Kolkata…….” I went off to IndiBlogger to check out his profile. Well then I added him back to my network and checked out his blog . His write-ups were awesome and I loved them. Depanjan Chowdhury. On 9th of April, I read all his posts and voted for them on IndiBlogger and his posts deserved those votes! Time passed off easily while reading his posts and then I was back to my old-boring-jobless life. WhatsApping, facebooking, blogging, eating, reading, and the list goes on… Suddenly at 10 P.M or so, I got a notification on my phone regarding Instagram telling me, “Depanjan Chowdhury ( @bengaliceo ) has reque...

THE HUG.

Sravani wanted something special to happen on the last day of the year. She wanted her year to end on a happy note. She went to the church to light the candle and spend some time there. She invited her best friend, Aarav to join her and he was all ready to join her. She went to the church and waited for him. He came and she smiled. Aarav hugged Sravani and she hugged him back. They held each others hand and went to the assembly hall. Sitting there, they had a small chat and went to the church’s backyard to light the candle. There Sravani hugged Aarav and didn’t want to let him go. She felt safe in his arms. She whispered, “ I love you ” and Aarav kissed her. For Sravani, Aarav was more than a best friend. “ Someday for sure, we’ll be together and that will be forever ” Sravani said to herself and smiled while waving a goodbye to Aarav.  All I ever wanted is just you.
